This was very different than what I was expecting from this author. It started out great but at about 60% I started feeling like someone else wrote the book. I thought the characters were never going to accept that they were attracted and do something about it. Maybe this was an attempt at slow burn but it was more aggravating than hot. Things never really heated up.Ashley started off as a great character and then he just became...whimpy? He wasn't inexperienced with women and he wanted to be respectful. I get being nervous and I get that he was raised differently but he could have at least acted like a confident person. He came off as if he didn't have a confident bone in his body. He was still funny and a great person; just not confident.Georgia was OK at best. As educated and goal oriented as she was, she was not very bright. I guess immature, sheltered, and naive was what the author was going for but she was more often silly and annoying. Especially the last few chapters. She pretty much ruined things for me. I kept expecting the light to go off in her head but it didn't happen and I can't say more without spoiling things.I didn't like the ending or whatever mess that last 10% or so was supposed to be. I was beginning to think that it was going to be a cliffhanger. As it was I wish Ashley had put his aristocratic foot down and make a choice for them but nope. These grown adults let their parents help decide what to do. 🙄There was nothing really wrong with the story. It was technically well written. There was some witty dialogue here and there and, as I said, it started out great. It just wasn't really my cup of tea. I was left disappointed. This author is still one of my favorites. Many others loved this book. All is well. Three stars from me but I will recommend it because I don't regret reading it. Give it a go. ✌🏻💟☯️ To say I am a fan of the Jock Hard series is an understatement. I’ve read Jock Row about 75 times (not exaggerating) and both Jock Row and Jock Rule about 25 times each. This series just does it for me. My excitement for Jock Royal was sky-high and it did not disappoint. It was everything….I finished reading it and went back to page 1 and read it completely again.Georgia and Ashley meet because of a dare that makes Georgia look like an *ss and leaves Ash with a slight dislike for her. Too bad they share a class and are stuck in a study group. With Georgia trying to redeem herself with Ash, they eventually move to being friends and then roommates (with an underlying attraction). What’s it gonna take for them to cross that line….maybe winning a trip for 2 to Las Vegas?What I loved….both Georgia and Ash are athletes. Georgia runs track and Ash plays rugby. Books with female athletes are my jam as a former college D1 athlete myself. I also liked the slow burn from friends to more. It literally just made me giddy reading it. They were just so sweet.This book is funny, steamy, emotional and a reference to Stirling & Scarlett literally had me screeching with joy. I love that these are sweet, steamy and light angst romances but this one did have a bit of drama with how their relationship ended up playing out where I was a bit worried with how it would go (don’t worry, it was sooooo good).Of course I recommend this book. It’s honestly perfection in my opinion and will be joining my constant re-read list.
